Perhaps there is no other neighborhood which evokes Miami's romantic past than Coconut Grove. Developed in the early 20th century on the shores of Biscayne Bay, this community engenders a passion among its residents, many of whom would not consider anywhere else to live. Lushly tropical, the streets in Coconut Grove can be winding and narrow, or wide, well-traveled boulevards. The housing possibilities range from tiny beach houses to the largest and most deluxe of Miami-area estates. Because it is highly sought- after, Coconut Grove is generally not for the true bargain hunter. Costs per square foot are high, relative to most other neighborhoods. However, the charm of Coconut Grove is undeniable and it is inimitable.
